Formwork vs Shuttering?

These two terms are often used interchangeably, mainly because there isn’t much of a difference between these two processes. 

The only difference between formwork and shuttering is the type of material being used.  

Based on the size of the project, these two processes can be needed together. However, both formwork and shuttering achieve the same goal. 

Every kind of formwork and shuttering needs external support, which is called bracing. This indicates stabilisers, poles or other materials that will help keep the formwork or shuttering in position till the concrete dries.

Shuttering needs to be completed necessarily to avoid big problems in the future. The shuttering is made up of timber or plywood. Apart from these two materials, shuttering is done using other materials, as well.
