My cook has become quite a pro in spilling oil almost every week. Last month, she spilled oil on our newly painted kitchen wall, and I got really furious. I knew she did not do it intentionally, but it costs too much to hire a painter just to paint a wall. I had to know how to remove oil stains from walls without removing paint and do it myself. After much discussion and research, I found a way out and it was helpful. You can follow this remedy on how to clean oil stains from wall here:
Removing oil stains from walls without damaging the paint can be done following the right cleaning method. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Gather Supplies:Mild dish soap or a degreasing cleaner
Warm water
Clean, soft cloths or sponges
A bucket
Baking soda (optional)
White vinegar (optional)
Before proceeding, test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't harm the paint.
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap or a degreasing cleaner with warm water in a bucket. You can also add a small amount of white vinegar or baking soda for extra cleaning power.
Now let me answer how to get oil off painted wall. This is what you need to do:
Apply the Solution:Dip a clean cloth or sponge into the solution, wring it out to remove excess moisture, and gently dab the oil stain.
Avoid rubbing the stain, as it can spread the oil. Instead, blot the stain gently, working from the outside towards the center to prevent spreading.
Rinse the cleaned area with clean water and blot dry. If the stain persists, repeat the process until it's gone.
You can also buy a market-bought product, but that might ruin the wall completely, which is why I avoided it.
This method on how to remove oil stains from walls without removing paint was really helpful to me. However, if you have more solutions, please share them here.
