Home / Legal / Rent Agreement / Is it legal if the builder is using my apartment as his office for a few years and still charging me for the maintenance and electricity? I can't take my keys from him, because the bill they are showing is too high and I don't think i should pay for that. I can't even sell this property, because I can't show it to people.

So, I am assuming that you have rented out your apartment to the builder for office use. Ideally, the maintenance is paid by the owner while the electricity bill is paid by the tenant. So, the electricity bill has to be paid by the tenant (the builder). Firstly, if you have done a proper rent agreement, then talk to the builder and try to settle the issue. Secondly, If this doesn’t work, try getting in touch with a lawyer and take his/her help to solve this issue.
